Ghazal is a synthesis of poetry and music which creates in listeners the feeling of serene exhaltation and joy.

Khayal means "imagination." Chota Khayal is sung in medium and fast speeds with beautiful improvisations.
Tarana compositions are without lyrics which emphasize the rhythmic aspect of music.
Thumris are tender love songs. Ragas are precise melodic structures with ascending and descending scales.
Raga Kaushik Dhwani has a five-note scale, Ma-Vadi Sa-Samvadi with a pleasant mood.
In Raga Pahadi the mood is sad, waiting of the beloved.
